CONTEST WINNER ANNOUNCED!
Women’s Professional Soccer announced today the winner of the “You Know You are a WPS Fan…” Contest. Diane Martin is the winner for her line:
“You Know You are a WPS Fan when... you paint your face with your favorite team's colors....wait, there's no game today?”
Diane, a soccer fan from St. Louis Mo., has won an official WPS Shirt.
The “You Know You are a WPS Fan When…” Contest asked fans to submit continuances of this line to show their fan enthusiasm.
We would like to thank everyone that participated. The submissions were great and we enjoyed looking through them. We hope you continue to spread excitement for WPS!!!
Below are a few Honorable Mentions:
YOU KNOW YOU ARE A WPS FAN WHEN...
... you drive forty miles to the stadium to pick out the seats you want to order your season tickets for.
... you reference the home-made 'countdown 'til kickoff' calendar of your favorite WPS club more than twice a day.
... you sneak out of work to watch the draft. Shhhhh...
...weekend football to you is not Patriots vs. Redskins, but Breakers vs. Freedom!!!
...you wake up in the morning and feel empty until you've checked both the WPS home page and the fan site THEN go have your cup(s) of coffee.
...Hoping that the Women's Professional Soccer league is a success, so it can give hope to other girls out there.
... your locker is filled with pics of your favorite WPS team instead of pics of your friends.
.... you "believe" you're on a first name basis with the players during a game. E.g.: "Yeah Hope, nice save!" or "Way to be Boxxy, knock 'em down."
...your friends don't understand you because all you talk about is your allocated players
... on night b 4 Christmas, u hang a very big sock with a note "Dear Santa, I've been very good this whole year, please santa, all I want is, the WPS season tickets and championship final game ticket"
...you read all of these and say "all of these describe me" and laugh.
...you know you are WPS fan when you bruise just watching the game
...you don't like tattoos, but you think Natasha Kai is Heaven-sent.

You know you're a WPS fan when every time, U look at the mirror (to comb your hair or what ever), U see yourself & Hope Solo, Mia Hamm, Abby Wambach, Kristine Lilly & Julie Foudy, & giving high five to each others (just like a ritual b 4 the game-time), then U set to go to work/school, etc.
You know you're a WPS fan when you rename car, from Mustang Sally to Mustang Abby. (woow, Holy guacamole)
You know you're a WPS fan when U move to the city, which ever city your favourite player is drafted to. (And support that city's WPS team, not me I'm blue-n-white 4 live)
You know you're a WPS fan when U ask madam commissioner (WPS) "CAN MICHELLE AKERS PLAY???" (what?,what?)
