Thanks to my fearless internet leader, Elly Deutch, I am writing blog 2. Your welcome, don’t act like you haven’t been waiting. Thanks to Elly and the Red Stars foray into the World Wide Web, I have been encouraged to explore new forms of social media, i.e., Twitter. As a result this morning I have really gotten into this twittering thing, and as I continue, I have to wonder, is this a good thing?
So far here are some of the good/interesting things I’ve learned today via various Twitters:
• The anti-adhesive properties of cranberry juice may inhibit the bacteria associated with gum disease and tooth decay.
• Calvin Coolidge is my new favorite president, for having owned a pygmy hippopotamus name Billy, during his time at the White House.
• The New York Times wonders aloud, Can Yelling at Your Kids Be Good? Maybe I’m alright after all.
• Fines increase as Chinese hoops gets physical; finally someone did what everyone was thinking, thanks for the update ESPN.
• Fact: In 1927 Michigan food processor Daniel Gerber founded Gerber Baby Foods Company, selling the first affordable baby food in the U.S. Thank you, as a child I never went hungry.
• Aww, shucks, thanks! I'll keep pooping my pants, if you keep reading. Tell your friends! Happy digesting! That’s thanks to ijustfarted, pretty much awesome.
And here are the bad things:
• In Pelican Mystery, Weather Is a Suspect. Actually very sad, I am a real fan of pelicans.
• Facebook Friend Apparently Dead Now, from the Onion, ha ha it’s a joke, get over it.
• Russia issues tsunami warning after strong quake. Who knew you could surf in Russia?
• Amanda Bynes has split with baseball player Doug Reinhardt. Amanda's friends didn't trust him. Terrible news, I’m trying to get through the rest of the day.
So what is my fascination with following people? Is it really necessary for me to know that according to Time Out Chicago, “Battlestar Galactica starts up again tomorrow. Has anyone else checked out the webisodes?” Is this new world of instant gratification good? I know I have my Twitter set up so that I find out all of the draft picks tomorrow, that’s a good thing. I face the fork in life where I must decide to jump into Elly’s social media world or fall off the grid, both have appealing aspects. The ancient Egyptian didn’t have to worry about Twitter, and they got by just fine right?
So for those of you that have spent a few minutes of your time reading this, I’m sorry, I know I’m no Lil Wayne. If I weren’t so afraid of Elly you may have lost me. But, lucky you in a few months perhaps you’ll get blog 3.
For more barely interesting info from me, follow me on Twitter, I’m KaitS.
