Women's Professional Soccer

So... I had a wierd choice to make today....
Im covering the Final....for World Soccer Wrap (c)...frankly... I wouldnt miss it!!! So the question came up...do I try to get press creds and watch it from up in the media area?....or do I just buy the tickets and sit with the fans? (like I have been doing the past couple of matches)
Personally I enjoy it more if I have a seat in the HDC...I can relate to the fans better and I can actually see the reactions of the people around me.
Still....I really wouldnt mind getting a few soundbites for the show....after all....its the Final!!! Our listeners have come to expect a segment on the show each week and I really wouldnt mind getting a solid 2 or 3 minutes with a few players.
Anyway....
Easy choice...Im sitting with fans...I bought my tickets today...Section 109, Row B seats 17,18,19 and 20.
Why 3 extra seats?...Like I have been saying for many years...as a fan of Soccer in America.... you gotta put your money where your mouth is...I am going to take 3 of my friends with me...2 of them have never even see women play soccer live and one has never seen a pro soccer match....ever!!!.... I hope to make fans out of them....wish me luck!!
I know that the economy being the way it is...that alot of us are budgeting in more ways....but I truely beleive that if you can save up enough dough to buy a couple of tickets than maybe you can buy another one and invite a less-soccer-savvy friend along.
By the way....shout out to Andrea Dalton at the Sol ticket department...who was super sweet and really pro when dealing with me....
Hope to see all of you at the Finals....until then I will see you at the pub!!

I think when you decide to take an upcoming fan to a game, you have to take them to the right game. I made a mistake by taking my wife to her first pro soccer game, a USA Mens vs. Sweden Friendly. Of course the crowd was rowdy. After that, she stated that the crowd was too much for her. I was able to talk her into to attending the LA SOL vs. Athletica game with me and she was really impressed. Therefore, I think you need to take into consideration the person and the match to be sure that the personalities mesh together.

StarCity...Taking non soccer fans to matches is a wierd experience...and Ive turned on a few people to soccer over the years....I took one of my friends to the LA Galaxy Real Madrid match years ago and he was hooked...Espihir... 2 out of 5 is pretty good...considering some people just dont like womens sports in general. We gotta create fans for this league...and literally dragging them to the matches is what I do best...the players the atomosphere and the game itself does the rest... MollyTaylor.... "see you at the pub" is my catch phrase... I use it at the end of my blogs (and stuff) about soccer...I used to go the The Fox and Hounds...a lot...but alas I havent been there in years...

I brought 5 friends to one game and 2 ended up asking when I was going to the next one! Good luck and I'm looking forward to your post!

I've had zero luck getting my non-soccer-fan friends to come to games and only a little more with those who aren't already enthusiastic about women's soccer, so more power to you. But I did buy an extra season ticket and have managed to find a taker for every game.
