Twitter BirdWPS Players To Tweet During Inaugural Match

During the Inaugural Match on Sunday, March 29, fans will be part of sports history by following the first-ever live Twitter account by professional players during a major U.S. sporting event. League Commissioner, Tonya Antonucci, and a player from both the Washington Freedom and Los Angeles Sol teams will be tweeting in real-time. Fans can follow along by signing in at www.twitter.com/womensprosoccer on Thursday, March 26, when WPS announces who the two live 'Tweeters' will be during the Inaugural Match.

The league is considering the use of Twitter in the long term depending on fan, player, and coach responses after the Inaugural Match.
