First degree of Carli Lloyd

I'm related to Carli Lloyd by some degree of separation - no, not by blood technically, but by soccer blood. No big deal though.

So it all started a few days ago when I let my formed college soccer coaches know that I was going to the NSCAA convention and would love to meet up with them would be there too. But for some reason I had lost one of my old coaches emails, so had to look on the University of Dayton's website for her contact info.

As soon as I found it, I started reading up on all her great soccer credentials, and scrolled across her Rutgers University soccer accomplishments. I knew all along that she went to Rutgers for Undergrad, but it didn't faze me until about an hour later that our very own Chicago Red Stars midfielder Carli Lloyd went there too. Then it hit me...

DID SHE PLAY COLLEGE BALL WITH THE ONE THE ONLY CARLI LLOYD?!?

Answer: YES.

My Reaction: Absolutely ecstatic just thinking about how cool it would have been to see Carli at Rutgers in the early days of her college career, and to have seen her develop in soccer so publically since then. I mean I'm sure people will follow me through to my pro soccer years as well (cough cough), but it won't be as public or exciting as hers... especially since that won't happen at this point since my body has gone beyond its limitations to physically be capable of playing sports - but that's another issue in and of itself.

Anyways, my rambling on here is all just to tell everyone that TECHNICALLY through soccer blood, I AM related to Carli Lloyd. Pretty cool though considering there are no direct correlations between my soccer past in Chicago, and her younger years spent in NJ and beyond. Glorious news, thought everyone would like to know that tidbit of information about me, so thanks for that Tania and Carli. :)
