Women's Professional Soccer

As I sit and write this blog, my first official women's pro soccer blog which is long overdue, I feel the energy as I know the morning is going to be full of exiting news for women's pro soccer and its fans. As Alyse LaHue mentioned in her recent blog, we really have come a long way. I started working with the team when we were identified as solely Chicago Pro Women's Soccer. We were without a name, logo, coach, staff, players, etc. Little by little all of the questions have been and continue to be answered.

We unveiled our name and logo at a wet, but very successful press conference event, hired our head coach~Emma Hayes and shortly after, one by one, added a talented group of professionals. While we all have very different and unique roles within the Chicago Red Stars organization and are wearing many different hats, we come together for the common goal of success. The success of our team and league begins with our staff and what we consistently do on a daily basis.

We are led by two of the most respected soccer leaders and supported by a brilliant ownership group that allows us to be creative day in and day out. There can be many frustrations during the process of building a professional team from the bottom up, but we all know the rewards will outweigh the frustrations. We learn as we go and get better with each step we take. I am proud to be a part of this team and experience. It truly is a chance of a lifetime.

September 16, 2008 is a going to be a historical day for of us. We have planned and executed well to get to this point. The players that will play for the Chicago Red Stars will be the recipients of our creative planning and solid execution. We are looking forward to each and every player that will be introduced as a Chicago Red Star. These players will be in the best of hands with this staff at the Chicago Red Stars!!!

As for a Tuesday, September 16, 2008, morning message, I would like to welcome our USWNT players. Welcome to Chicago...Sweet Home Chicago!!!

I love it, I can't believe I missed it early. I can't believe the earth didn't shake when we both wrote a blog. I guess we'll have to keep trying. Maybe...

"There can be many frustrations during the process..."
for example: networking issues, broken printers, fuse outages, temperature fluctuations, office moving & rearranging, broken tents, lost tables, 2 hours of being on-hold on the phone, "my email is not working!", "i can't print!", "why does my screen close when I send Kait an email?!"... just to name a few. :)
