It is do or die for the Breakers.
Sky Blue FC won their game on Wednesday so the Breakers can’t lose on Sunday, or else their season is over.
Again, if they win, they are definitely in play-offs.
If they tie, they need Sky Blue FC to win in tomorrow’s game against Washington to advance. So, going into Sunday’s game, we’ll know exactly what we need to do and what our chances are.
Needless to say, practice has been a l…

The remainder of my trip…
Here’s a little more that I learned from a few other players, mostly through dinner:
Sofia doesn’t like lemon cake and is one of those people at the restaurant that you’re embarrassed to be with because she asks a million questions and angers the server. At first I figured everyone was maybe exaggerating a little bit, but then this happened two out of two times I was around her. Everyone still…

As an intern, you expect to be getting coffee for people. You definitely don’t expect to be sent on a plane, on a trip that to others is just part of the job, and probably even a hassle, but to you is the chance of your intern lifetime.
I was sent on the road with the Boston Breakers. This is what happened, the first half.
I arrived in Washington a day later than the rest of the team, and got there a few hours before t…

Practice today was rainy and windy… but familiar like all of June. The seven National Team players got back yesterday, but spent practice on the sidelines, probably to recover from their games and travel, and also to rest up for tomorrow’s game. Because of this, I can’t really give you any indication of the line-up. The rest of the players scrimmaged and practiced shooting.
I assume that our usual defensive line will be…

Coming off a good win last night, the Breakers might have finally found a good mix of starting eleven. But, going into Sunday’s game against FC Gold Pride, they are without more than just their two English teammates. With the US National Team playing a game against Canada, the Breakers will now be without SEVEN of their usual starting eleven. Not to mention four of the seven, make up the entire Breakers defense. The play…

Coming off another disappointing loss, and heading into another tough game tomorrow, it looks like Tony is once again trying to find a line up that’ll work. While the Breakers did defeat Chicago 2-0 the last time they met, they also suffered their worst loss this season to the Red Stars 4-0 in their initial meeting.
The Breakers go into tomorrow’s game already without two pretty important things: their English stars. Bo…

This is the start of a new blog, written by Boston Breakers media relations intern Jess Lander.
The best part about today was not having to huddle under a covered bench with my raincoat on because summer finally showed its face around Boston. So instead, I took my seat upon ‘The Gator” (see photo) and watched practice. Well, some of practice. My eyes kept wandering off the field to where Kristine Lilly’s adorable daughter Sydney was learning to walk. A kid that cute is pretty distracting…

This fall, members of the Boston Breakers staff took a step back in time to be reminded of what life as a high school student athlete is all about.
As part of their post-practice pizza party initiative, the Breakers visited with seven high school programs across the state, bringing with them plenty of pizza and some serious soccer talk. With six months left until the inaugural Women’s Professional Soccer season opens, this was an exciting step in getting fans involved and energized about their…

Hello Boston Breakers fans!
Well, our roster continues to be developed. There was a four-round draft on Monday and I feel very good about it. Our goal in the draft was to solidify our defense and we did just that. Let me go over our picks with you.
Round 1 pick - Amy LePeilbet: Amy is in the Women's National Team Pool and some close to the national team said she would have made the Olympic Team, but she suffered an injury that kept her from being considered for the roster. Amy is a tough, athl…
