Pat Free Elizabeth Lambert...sinner/saint

Everyone keeps blah blah yapping about the beautiful game this the beautiful game that, what they fail to understand is the true nature of football. Football is the only sport that can explain the world. Go to your local Mexican adult league game and tell me thats a clean soccer game, even the so called beautiful brazil, look what Rivoldo did against turkey out in the open he cheated and took advantage brazil would not have won if it wasnt for Rivoldo using his method or even most recently what… Continue

Ashton DeBoe Angela Hucles Retiring

I can't believe Angela Hucles retired. I thought she was actually pretty good. She was one of the best on the Boston Breakers. I still can't believe she left before the USA's match against Germany. I'm sure the team will miss her, and I'm sure her fans will, too. Far well, Angela!!! Continue

JR Salazar Los Angeles vs. Boston: Captain Shannon steers Sol to victory

The Los Angeles Sol can now claim the honor of being the first team in Women's Professional Soccer history to have beaten each of its opponents at least once.

Down 1-0 and the lack of form rearing its ugly head yet again, manager Abner Rogers went forward to bring in Camille Abily. Thanks to her presence, a Marta equalizer and a stoppage-time penalty by team captain Shannon Boxx was all the Sol needed to claim a 2-1 victory over the Boston Breakers at Harvard Stadium.

Pat Whats wrong with Natsha Kai?

Despite the unbelievable plays and excitement from the players in the league, I think fans have to realize that these players are human as well. They are not going to play every game to their potential. Sometimes there are forces outside of playing futbol plaguing the minds of these players. Just because you are a Pro athlete does not make you immune to being a human. Ive read some Natasha Kai bashing lately, Yeah so she held her head down in a game but does anyone not see what the whole sky blu… Continue

JR Salazar 2009 WPS Power Rankings: Week 18

With the Los Angeles Sol clinching the WPS Regular Season championship, the race for the remaining three playoff spots sees Chicago and FC Gold Pride drop out.

So let's take a look at the rankings this week, while I cry in my birch beer after the USA men suffered their second-straight second-half pratfall in an international championship match.

Pat ALL-STAR SELECTIONS, AHH OK SO FAR

I thought all-star selections should be people who did well this last season. Im a bit annoyed by some of the selections. It seems only the big named players, (even thou many of them did not do well at all this season) are the ones selected into the all-star game. I have a bone to pick with these players and their selection into the all star game. First and biggest bone to pick: Carli Lloyd, granted she is one of my favorite players (if you don't believe me read my previous blogs) but Carli w… Continue

Let's take a look and find out.

1. Boston Breakers

In this week's edition of the 2009 WPS Power Rankings, we come to the conclusion that any fortress can be breached, so long as you play like a tired, exhausted shell of yourself.

Just ask the team that dropped to second in our Power Rankings, the Los Angeles Sol.

Meanwhile, the hopes of the other teams below LA begin to flicker, so let's take a look.

JR Salazar 2009 WPS Power Rankings: Week 15

In a league like the WPS, we hold these truths to be self-evident: that all footballers are created equal, that they are endowed by the footballing gods that be with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of postseason happiness.

As the Los Angeles Sol perch on the doorstep of winning the Women's Professional Soccer regular season championship, the teams below jostle for the other three playoff spots up for grabs.

JR Salazar 2009 WPS Weekly Power Rankings: Week 14

Plenty of action this week in Women's Professional Soccer. By the way, a Happy Independence Day to you all. Even though this article is posted beforehand, I believe that coming prepared for what will happen in the future is key to surviving the cruel realities of the present.

Now, it's no surprise who is first this week.

I mean, do we even need to figure it out? All right, I have been drinking a little too much of that tonic the touters on Fox Soccer Channel call 5-Hour Ene

Pat Chicago red stars PANIC BUTTON, well actually not quite yet?

Chicago is not as bad as everyone is making them come off. Watching the games, I wouldnt say theres a lack of coaching. They are getting there chance to win games, but the goals arent going into the net. Going forward they have every tool needed, and they are doing well. How many chances have been cleared off of the line or hit the post. Thats just bad luck granted its been happening for some games now so its demoralizing. That has nothing to do with a coach, a coach is supposed to give there te… Continue
