hi I was just at the July 4th game against the boston breakers and It was awesome. Heather O reilly scored the goal on a corner kick. It was amazing! I had so much fun! After the game the players came and signed my soccer ball. Then I got a picture with some of the World Cup winners and the trophy. It was so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Phew! It has seriously been a long, hectic year. I haven't signed onto here in ages, but figured I needed to jump back on the bandwagon. The Red Stars are inspiring me, what can I say? I'm also inspired by one of their #1 fans, Pott Rocks. Seriously, that girl has energy and she gave my sister and I super dope new tshirts... except they're not new, they're recycled. Did ya hear that Spilger?
With that said, here I am again... trying to promote the Red Stars, WPS and women's soccer in general as…

Tomorrow night is Brazilian night at the Maryland SoccerPlex, welcoming Marta to the DC Area. There will be Brazilian food, music and performances before the game, as well as a quasi independence day celebration afterwards, with fireworks. Batala is a rhythm band that will be bringing their flavorful style to the pregame entertainment. And make sure to pick up some Samba lessons as well. There will be a DJ, a temporary tattoo artists, a foosball table and more! Afterwars, the players will be hea…

This obviously is an International affair. America declare themselves to be the best in the world, but the league is its fouth month, and the Americans have not done anything. The only American to do something is Kristine Lilly, and remember people she is 35 years old. She is ranked 7th with goals, and Ali Wagner is ranked 4th with assists.
Some one need to talk to these players. Whats going on. Just imagine if there was no rule on international players, the American´s would not be able to make…

Tonight as I walked into a local restaurant called Fiesta Jalapeno (for those of you who need to work on their spanish that's Party Pepper) I saw some one who looked identical to Marta (if you don't know who that is by now, we've got bigger problems). To add to the fact that she not only looked like her, on the flat screens the Brazilian Men's National Team was playing. I thought that was a little strange, I assume an employee must have recorded it.
Unfortunately, not everyone can live in a fat…

First, I will do a little fancy recap of the Chicago game, before heading off to making some points that many of you have dutifully already brought up in comments, as well as ideas from previous blogs. Then, I shall travel to the pregame report for the visit of the Los Angeles Sol on Sunday. But before that, I would like to wish everyone an early Happy 4th of July!
So, as you all know, we lost in Chicago 2-1. That makes the Redstars the first team to ever win from a deficit. We still have not b…

I just want to start off by saying that last night might have been some of the best soccer I have seen in real life….I’m not saying that every game isn’t the best soccer ever but sometimes you watch some of the best soccer on tv and you wish you were there because your like “damn, that’s some good gnikcuf soccer”…..well, last night I was there and I saw it all! Let me tell you a little bit of what I saw last night.
First off, let’s give these Red Stars a round of applause for a stellar performa…

Untold millions call in to voice their support of one or the other contestant. With weeks to go before the season started, the magnificently wily Brawn engineered a full buy-out of the Honda team. For sure, I was touched and moved by his sorrows and pain. On the contrary, in recent months I have rarely heard any complaints about political bias in the press except from a few Republicans.…

It is no secret that the Red Stars have been on a dismal win-less streak over the last two-plus months. To say the least, the morale of the team had gotten pretty low, with chance-after-chance being picked off the goal line or connecting with one of what seemed like 10 goal posts in any of the last nine games. It has felt like we were cursed to never score a game-winner again.
Enter tonight’s game against the Freedom.
The game started out rather well in our offensive favor. Our first four shot…

What went wrong? Chicago, the last placed team beats Washington, formerly a second placed team, now tetering on the edge of playoff contention. In fourth place, can the Freedom be losing their grip? What is Jim Gabarra thinking? A final score of 2-1, after the Freedom struck first. More on this abomination tomorrow.

OMG Marta has Tattoo
I was getting some pictures together to update my youtube account and I saw a angel wing on her left side. I will try to post it to mypage photos.
I guess it is the Image of the Angel that blesses Rio, Brazil. ( Actually I imagined that it is, that would be way cool)It might be a unicorn .. Don't know.
In today society it is totally normal to have a Tattoo, but I didn't imagined Marta since she is the league spokesperson.
The Tattoo is in a place where nobody would see. I…

Take a look at the word we Americans know as soccer in six different languages:
Le football (France)
fotboll (Sweden)
futebol (Brazil)
サッカー(Japan)
英式足球 (China)
football (Australia, England, Scotland and many others)
Now ask yourself this: If the word soccer isn’t even the same in every language can you imagine how difficult it might be to try and teach an international player what it means to “step up”, “get wide”, or “pressure” ?
As I mentioned in my previous blog, the international players i…

I
read that LA Sol have officially clinched a playoff berth and I couldn't help but think back to 10 months ago, last fall. If you had told me then that the LA Sol would pretty much steam roll everyone else in the league I would not have been at all shocked.
In typical LA sporting fashion (with the exception of the Clippers...why are they even still a team? Does anyone even go to those games?)…

Plenty of action this week in Women's Professional Soccer. By the way, a Happy Independence Day to you all. Even though this article is posted beforehand, I believe that coming prepared for what will happen in the future is key to surviving the cruel realities of the present.
Now, it's no surprise who is first this week.
I mean, do we even need to figure it out? All right, I have been drinking a little too much of that tonic the touters on Fox Soccer Channel call 5-Hour Ene
