My niece and I are passionate about our UNC soccer!!! (Alumni 2007). We love all of our UNC & US Team players. My wife and I loved the Carolina Courage back in the day. And sticking to my principal of Blue Through and Through---Go Chelsea !!! Frank Lampard is the man.
I will make sure to take some good pics of Lampard for you - I think my seats are in the second row at midfield, so it shouldn't be too hard! Just make sure you take some awesome pictures of the game you get to go to! Can't wait for the Sol to come out here because Aly Wagner and Wambach are my two favorite players (I followed Wambach back in Florida) and can't wait to see them play against each other.
I didn't go to UNC, but my entire extended family seemed to - aunts and cousins - so it was natural to watch the Heels while growing up and it just stuck. I love any UNC sport, but soccer and b-ball are the favs. Hopefully I can go there for my Phd, but I have to get through my grad school program first!
One hour is nothing at all if you get to see some quality soccer and it should be a great atmosphere - I heard they have sold over 10,000 tickets already (or expect over 10,000). Pretty good for a non-national team game!
Oh forgot to mention - did you know Chelsea and AC Milan are playing up in this area (Baltimore to be exact) this July? I just bought my tickets today - being a Liverpool fan I don't know who I will want to win, but I am looking forward to enjoying some quality soccer. Thought you might want to know since Chelsea is your team!
Lampard, Terry, Cole, KaKa, Ronaldinho - only thing that would make it better would be Gerrard and Torres!
WOW - I am so jealous! You better take some cool pictures! Are you going out there for business and just able to catch the game or are you going out specifically for the game? I wish I could go, but couldn't get time off work. Have fun!
I loved the game! I think both teams played really well and there were some quality goals from both sides. I have to say Ashlyn Harris had to be the player of the match though because it could have been 5 or 6 goals easy for the Freedom. I knew she was a great keeper, but I am excited to see her play full games next year. hopefully I can make it down to a couple of games next year. Great crowd for this type of game too.
Thanks for the compliment on the pics - I am going to put some up from the UNC game too!
UNC is the only college team worth watching! I am excited to drive down to Wilmington and see them play the Freedom - my two favorite women's soccer teams playing each other. I can't ask for more. So does the fact that I am a UNC fan make it forgivable that I am a Liverpool fan - at least it isn't Man U right?
