Cheers for Local 134!! I see there already is a supporters scarf too! :) I was going to mention holding a contest like they currently are for S8 for a new supporters scarf, maybe in the future? I probably won't be able to make it out to Pilsen, but I will definently be at the U.S. vs. Ireland game! I'll see you all then! Rock

Watch out WPS, the Red Stars have their first supporters' group! This week a name, and interim board were selected to lead the group in preparation for the Red Stars inaugural season in 2009. The group is called Chicago Local 134 in honor of this city's rich union history and to commemorate the supporters' section for the Red Stars home matches, section 134.

Three founding members, Elizabeth Currie, Nicole Hack, and Kari Kouba were elected as the interim board. All three have a long history of involvement in soccer in Chicago as players, team organizers, and supporters.

Local 134 will be holding a public meeting for those who want to get involved or learn more next Wednesday, September 17, 7pm at Efebos Cafe in Pilsen (1640 S Blue Island Ave, a couple blocks east of the 18th Street Pink Line stop). You will also be able to find Local 134 at Toyota Park on September 20 for the US-Ireland match for a pre-game tailgate, with inaugural scarves and further information available.

Finally, design the logo for Local 134 and win an amazing prize!

First Public Local 134 Meeting

USWNT at Toyota Park (Saturday, September 20th)

On Saturday, September 20th, Toyota Park will host the USWNT v. Ireland at 7:00 pm. Local 134 will be there, welcoming our new players to the club and cheering them on at the match.

Come out and support the USWNT, the Red Stars and Local 134!

Chicago Red Stars Allocation

On September 16th, the WPS will conduct the allocation of the USNWT. From that player pool, three of the finest female soccer players in the world will became the first members of the Chicago Red Stars Soccer Club.
