I know you play with Carolina Courage. You beat Freedom in 2002 WUSA Founder Cup II Championship game.
Any intention of joining The Washington Freedom (@Le Blue Ladies) -Blue-N-White?
We need other good keeper, Erin Mcleod is good, she's a Canadian.

Hi,

I'm a bit of a goalkeeper fan and enjoyed your play with the Carolina WUSA team, but never had a chance to tell you back then. I've always preferred watching (and coaching) the women's game. The flashy finishers draw all the attention, but in my experience the goalkeepers make or break the team.

Good luck to you and best wishes for the WPS league!

Hey Kristin... I hear that you were a ski racer and coach. I ski for Sierra Nevada College, but also love playing soccer (keeper as well.) How did you manage to do both sports at a competitive level? Unfortunately I really had to cut back the amount of soccer that I played in order to focus more on skiing. Do you still coach skiing at all?

Bring on the finals!

The good news is, the American team is peaking at just the right time. The bad new is, so are the Brazilians. Brazil and the US left no doubt that they are the best two teams in the tournament with their 4-1 and 4-2 victories over Germany and Japan -- two teams known for their great defending. This is shaping up to be another classic battle in the finals.

What have we learned from the semi-final matches?

Brazil - Germany
The way that Germany went down was a little surprising. With an in… Continue

Shaky start, but they'll be fine...

Soccer is a game of mistakes. The key to winning is to take advantage of the other team’s mistakes and prevent them from taking advantage of yours. If you make mistakes up front or in the midfield, you can usually recover from them. However, mistakes in the back can be deadly. The US Women learned that lesson very quickly in their Olympic opener, as Norway took advantage of two US defensive mistakes to go up 2-0 in the first 4 minutes of play.

In contrast to the US, Norway made no major mistake… Continue

W-League Final Four weekend -- a preview of great things to come.

After spending far too much time in airports and a few hours in an airport hotel in Atlanta, I have finally made it home from the W-League Final Four weekend in Virginia Beach. For the exception of the last 8 minutes of my FC Indiana team's championship game loss, and the ridiculous two days it took some of us get back to Indiana, the weekend was quite a success.

Most notably, the tournament was a great display of our domestic talent, as well as the talent of many foreigners already playing in… Continue
