No way! My high school soccer coach is helping with that team now, and I am attending a rival school--Crown College. Are you back in Chicago now? Do you plan on trying out for a team? What do you know about tryouts? I was so excited to hear about the professional league and can't wait 'till it starts.
ok....long story about my Packer love...i'm from McHenry, Illinois and got my sports passions from my dad who's from the south side of Chicago. Growing up, he was a fan of the White Sox, Black Hawks and NFL Chicago Cardinals who played at Comiskey Park. He hated the north side Cubs and the north side Bears who both played at Wrigley Field.
When the Cardinals moved to St. Louis in 1960, he ended his support of the Cards, but maintained his antipathy towards the north side Bears. Growing up in the 1960s during the Vince Lombardi era, i heard a lot of cheering for the Packers in my house from my dad...i didn't realize at the time that he really didn't care about the Pack, he just wanted the Bears to suffer.
i was 13 before i realized that and by then it was too late. i was a Packers fan. Recent management issues are testing my loyalty though. i will certainly cheer for Green Bay once Ted Thompson is gone or Brett Favre retires (again), whichever comes first.
Guess what?! The Red Stars have a supporters group called Chicago Local 134! Visit our website at www.chicagolocal134.com and become part of the family!
