Women's Professional Soccer

Hi Everyone,

We’re in the process of re-launching womensprosoccer.com today (Wed, April 16th, 2009). If the new site is not already coming up for you, it should be soon.

In re-launching, we sought to address a lot of the feedback we’ve received from you – a better video experience, more photos, scores featured more prominently, etc.

Please know that this is just Phase 1 of our web project. More cool features are in process such as calling out stats leaders more prominently, giving fans the ability to comment on and rate content, etc.

As you surf the new site, let us know your thoughts – all feedback is welcome.

I'm loving the new website! Well done. I especially like the fact that you've added the player stats in the "standings" section. Again, great job!

I like the changes that you have made to it. It is more organized and easier to find information, and most importantly-updated.

A couple of suggestions I have made in the past I hope you consider as well.

1.) Having the home teams of the non-televised games each week provide video highlights of their games to be posted on the WPS site. Possibly having someone do a 3-5 minute video wrap-up show of the weeks action on the site.

2.) Something else I would like to see is the categories shaken up in this forum. I think the WPS and individual team categories are necessary. However, I dont think the Drafts, Allocation and Olympics categories are going to serve a strong enough purpose going forward. The Olympics category should be changed to the International category, for Women's national team and international league news. Combining the Drafts and Allocations into a Transactions/Transfers category would serve a more broader purpose for drafts, trades, and signings. The creation of a Matchups category would serve for discussing past and upcoming matches. I think this would provide more organization to the forums, plus draw in more posters from other websites.

I hope you consider these ideas. Overall, great progress on the website it is much improved.

I would like to see a standings table on the main page with W/L/T and points. Other than that the new site is looking great!

Greatly improved look and navigation. Agree with Chevy's suggestions above. Most importantly, keep it updated, make the WPS and team sites my first source for news.

The new site is an improvement. Much better organized. Thank you. I have one big request/suggestion. Is there a way to provide video of ALL matches. Without video available online, the casual sports fan isn't going to be drawn into the league as easily. As a whole, WPS is forward thinking in terms of net savy but this lack of video is disappointing and (imo) detrimental to the league. Please, please, please get video of games other than the FSC broadcasts up on youtube (what are hulu terms like? is that something that the league might be able to get involved w/?). If concacaf can put up full video of u-20 women's qualification, surely WPS can put up video of non-televised games. Pretty please?

Love the new site- looks really great.

I'd love to see video too!
I'd also like to see RSS feeds available for league/team news.

really like the stats because i've been dying to know them (i keep the stats on the back of my history note book...but i forgot to put the tie column XD)

the website (i believe) is ten times better than the old one.

Like the new site. I like the video, especially of the non-televised games. Though, I have a little trouble making the players out. It'd be great if someone could narrate a bit of what we're seeing, who's passing, etc. before the final product is posted. I'd also love to have an RSS feed so I can know when something new has been posted.
Thanks for all the hard work and keep it up!

Umm, where is the league table? It isn't under the "standings" tab anymore. I don't want to have to do math to sort out standings. Thanks.
