What tops the charts as the most exciting event of WPS so far?

Was it Marta's two goal against Boston? Or Allison Falk's historic first goal in the WPS Inaugural Match? Perhaps you were stunned by Lindsay Tarpley's goal against the run of play in Saint Louis? Or how about Tiffeny Milbrett's game-winner at FC Gold Pride?

Caroline Jönnson has been the best player in the league so far.

Forgot who took that free kick. The player who took the free kick should be given credit for scoring. Why call it own goal by scurry?

Aya Miyama took the free kick, but it wasn't on-net until Scurry redirected it. That's the dictionary definition of an own goal. If it were headed for net even if Scurry hadn't touched it, then you'd have a point, but that's not how it appeared to me.

It's always great to back a great player, but you need to read the facts to back the statement. You need to visit the league statistics, Tim, when you used the words "so far" on April 29 (when you posted this after Game 4)
Caroline was still trailing Karina LeBlanc in 2 categories -Goals Against and Clean Sheets.
Caroline leads MostSaves.
LeBlanc's saves average was 100%; Jonsson's was 96%.
And although I admire these stats, the title of best player in the league includes everyone, not just GK's. So, the WPS April polls result named the top three for the month were Kelly Smith, Marta and Karina.
So, maybe next week/month for Caroline? In my eyes also, she is an awesome GK.
(Note my reply is BEFORE game 5! and anything goes, right!)

I think the goal by Brittany Bock was tight!!! But by far the best moments have come form the LA Sol!!!

I'm responding to this several weeks (and many great games) after the original question, but at this point I'd have to say that Kelly Smith's goal against LA in the second minute of the May 2nd game tops my list of exciting moments. She's always incredible to watch, but to not only be the first to score on LA, but to do it so quickly, got everyone (in the HUGE 8000+ crowd) sitting on the edge of our seats. I wish it had been televised!

Speaking of that: it's not a surprise that the Boston/LA games have both been great matches, or that Marta and Kelly have led their teams to the top 2 slots in the league... why were those games not televised? I think we should push to get Fox to cover the August 9th game - both teams' final game of the regular season, and the next time they meet.

Hi Lisa:
Click on WPS and select schedule; then TV schedule. You will see that the schedule by Fox Sport gives each team 6 times on TV plus the play-offs. This was planned LONG before the games started. (Unfortunately) but they had to plan for their crew to be on those locations and cities, as well as give each time the opportunity to be seen.
There would be a lot more criticism if only the top teams were televised. Besides they would not know where to plan to be next weekend at that rate, since we have teams so close in standings, right?
So as much as I wish that I could see more Boston/LA games, or all LA games since I am in Canada (smile) I just have to do the Match-Tracker thing on the internet, and be thankful that at least I can watch the scores.
I am also happy to see how the other players show their talents, and learn more about our internationals who we will someday face again, as part of their National team.
It's all good. Enjoy!

Most exciting was the Father's Day gift by Karina to her Dad. Her NINTH shutout in 12 games! and the teams 9th consecutive win too. In addition 7th goal from Camile Abily (Martina Franko) and 5th from Marta (Shannon Boxx)
It was also nice to see the film of the '99 World Cup, and MIA HAMM brought along her twins!
Coldn't have asked for more.
