What tops the charts as the most exciting event of WPS so far?

Was it Marta's two goal against Boston? Or Allison Falk's historic first goal in the WPS Inaugural Match? Perhaps you were stunned by Lindsay Tarpley's goal against the run of play in Saint Louis? Or how about Tiffeny Milbrett's game-winner at FC Gold Pride?

Speaking as a Freedom fan, I'd go with the Freedom's first score by Becky Sauerbrunn, particularly since I was there in the stadium.

More generally, I'd think I'd go with Tiff's late game-winner because I'd pretty much concluded that match was going to end in a tie.

And are we going to maintain for all time the fiction that Allison Falk scored the inaugural goal when replays and photos clearly show she never touched the ball?

Marta has not played against Boston yet, therefore has not scored two goals against them.

Agree. We need to relabel this as "the historic own goal by Brianna Scurry".

I agree the first 2 moments in the post are suspect to incorrect factual information. I would have to say the most exciting moment thus far is the last 15 minutes of the Gold Pride v. Boston match. Most of the game was muddled in midfield but the last 15 minutes of the match was a great back and forth spectical in which Smith tied the game up, Milbrett grabs the lead back, then Smith comes an inch away from salvaging the tie in the last seconds of the match. Great action, bad outcome.

The opening kickoff - been waiting 6 years for that - and the fact that the quality of play has been far better than in WUSA's first few matches. And Sonia Bompastor.

And yeah - when is WPS going to give up on the "Falk scored the first goal" thing? Some credibility is at stake here.

It's only fair that Scurry get her signature on the ball in the Soccer Hall of Fame since she's the one who scored it. ;)

Yep. Sorry Allison Falk, Bri Scurry made the first goal in WPS history.
And she did it by using her hands, imagine that!

Somehow, I don't think this thread is going as WPS had hoped LOL!

For most exciting moment, I was the most excited when Abily chipped Scurry, but I'm a bit partial to LA. :-)
