Women's Professional Soccer

So, as most of you have heard that the U.S. WNT are going to face the German WNT on October 29th. This will be a battle. Battle between two of the most dominant teams in the world. I wish I could watch it but I doubt there will be any stream of it.

I don't know what kind of injuries the Germans have but I know all about ours.
For me, I would be a lot more comfortable if we still had Rampone, Markgraf, and Tarpley on the squad. Two veteran defenders, two of our best, and one veteran midfielder, one of our best, out. Oh man.

I hope Abby kicks it into overdrive in this match. 1 goal in 3 matches since you've been back? You are soooo due.

I'm predicting Solo to play the entire match.

If Germany wins Euros, I think they'll have a lot of momentum going into this game. Can't believe the Swedes lost to Norway. I'm rooting for England :)

Predictions for the USA vs. Germany match?

Update: No Hucles or Rapinoe either.

Update #2: U.S. WNT wins against Germany! 1-0 on Abby Wambach's goal.

I'm rooting form England too, but the way the German WNT playing in 2009 UEFA in Finland now, well German have the advantage, if England want to win, england defenders, have to be more solid, because they not only facing Brigit Printz, but others german strikers & midfielders, they attack left, right and in the middle.
England dependable centre back capt Faye White is injured, she's the best centre back England ever have.
But still hope for England to win the UEFA Championship (it will be 1st time ever)
For USA vs Germany, the way I see it, with Rampone, Markgraf & Tarpley not in the team, well is hard to say.

I was so nervous for England. I was hoping it wouldn't go to penalties. Thank god it didn't.
Congrats to England. I'm with you, Germany'll beat Norway, and then England & Germany in the finals.

Yep, England & Germany in the finals.
Germany looked a little slow in the first half, I wonder what that was all about. Norway came out strong, I thought they had the most possession, in the first half that is, then Germany stepped it up in the second.

I wonder how important it is for the U.S. to win this game. Yeah it's just a friendly, but the way I've been seeing it, there are no "friendly" games with the U.S., they play to win. As do other teams, but it's just different with the U.S. WNT, I think.

This game needs to get here already.

Some people have criticized the US for being too serious about their friendlies - too often we put the same players out there who have been successful before, rather than trying out some new players, so that the new players never get the chance to show what they can do. Pia seems to be doing better with this than previous coaches, though.

This is the first time the US has played Germany since Sundhage became coach, isn't it? I know it's a friendly but it is NEVER okay to lose to that bunch.

It doesn't look like this game is on TV. I really hate the way the USSF neclects the WNT.

Yeah, first time the U.S. will play Gemany under Pia Sundhage. It'd be cool to know how Pia is preparing the players for this match. I wish they could stream it, they tape every game anyway. They have streamed games on the ussoccer site before. I remember watching a couple matches from the Achieve Your Gold tour.

Pia's brought in some young players, I don't know why people think she has to have young players all the time.
We need the veterans. If you look at Heather O'Reilly & Lindsay Tarpley, they're young, it's just they've been on the national team so long everybody notices them as veterans.
Pia's called up Amy Rodriguez, Lauren Cheney, Tobin Heath, Christie Nairn, Ashlyn Harris, Casey Noguiera, Brittany Bock, Yael Averbuch, Megan Rapinoe, & Tina DiMartino, all those are young players. Yeah, half of them are in the WPS, but that doesn't make them old. You can only have so many players on one team, and you can't just bring in a whole bunch new players who haven't played together, it's going to mess the chemistry up, and therefore mess the game up.

More bad news, Hucles and Rapinoe are not going to play against Germany.

Don't worry, it only a FRIENDLY, if we lose, we lose, if we win, we win, with the players that we have.
Our defences, midfields have to step-up their games, to beat the Germans, as I said, they can attack from every angle/directions of the field, from defences, midfields right up to their forwards, left, right, in the center you name it.
Watch 2010 UEFA championship match, how they rip England apart.
A draw (tie) would be fine with me.
