Well it is pretty much set in stone that Kelly Smith will be in Boston through 2011. Heather Mitts I put at 50-50 split between Boston and Philly, most likely going to Philly via trade if she requests it.

As for the expansion draft itself I have heard different rumors that established teams will be able to protect anywhere from 7-10 players who are under contract for the 2010 season. The league has not finalized the process yet so at this point it is still rumor. I think it might be closer to 7 because I think most players were signed for only 1 season making them free agents not subject to the expansion draft.

well Tobin won't be drafted in the expansion draft considering that she is still a senior at UNC. I believe the college draft is sometime in January, and Philly has the first pick, so I'm hoping they pick Tobs as well!

Oh, and according to Philly's FB page, they drafted Lori Lindsey, Jen Buczkowski, Nikki Krzysik, and Sue Weber in the draft today.

As Freedom fan I'm sad that Washington Freedom did not protected Lori Lindsey for been darft to expansion team,
well congrat to Philly you guys got 2 Freedom players, Lori Lindsey best midfielder Washington Freedom ever had, very hard working smart, likeable person in the team, you guys take a good care of our Lori Lindsey, like we do to her. She with us, since 2002 (WUSA) thru trade with San Jose Cyberay.
And Sarah Senty, D/M very potential player.
How about a trade? we trade you with Briana Scurry for Lori Lindsey?
The rival of Washington & Philly continue, just like WUSA.

It was a 2003 trade with the San Diego Spirit - she played for the Spirit in 2002 after being the #4 pick in the draft. Still, she's been with us every year since then and was captain of the 2007 W-League championship team. Going to hard to see her in a different uniform.

Philadelphia Independence (Philly)
1.) Caroline Seger M (Sweden)
2.) Charlotte Rohlin D (Sweden)
3.) Hólmfrídur Magnúsdóttir M (Iceland)
4.) Fara Williams M (England)
5.) Lianne Sanderson F (England)

Forget Heather Mitt, she's with Boston Breakers, Wait till you see Charlotte Rohlin in defend, then you have the best Freedom midfield LL (Lori Lindsey), my favourite english gal Fara Williams (england free kick specialist), Icelander Hólmfrídur Magnúsdóttir & swede Caroline Seger, Lianne Sanderson is very forward.
Welcome back, Philly & Atlanta Beat is the team to watch next season 2010, WUSA Washington Freedom rival.
GO FREEDOM!!!
