Sky Blue says they're announcing the signing of an "impact player" this afternoon, so maybe you'll get your wish.

Carli Lloyd agrees to terms with Sky Blue FC

Carli Lloyd, who chose to play in Chicago for the inaugural Women’s Professional Soccer season, is coming home. The Delran native, who opted for free agency Sept. 30, agreed to terms with WPS champion Sky Blue FC Monday. She will not only be returning to her home state, but will be playing her home games on the same field where she earned All-America honors during her years at Rutgers University.

Considering the off-season transactions thus far, this signing just gave SBFC a very dangerous strike option. With SBFC not exercising options on McCallum and Parker (who both played very well for SBFC last year), signing Carli to play in the midfield definitely fills that void.

Just thinking about it, however, it makes for some interesting lineup options...HAO, Rosana, and Carli in the MF, and Kacey and Kai in the attack...that gives SBFC very dangerous options! I can see Yael slipping back to a defensive mid role, but what to do with Francielle, who can also play defensive mid very well? Or does SBFC go to a 3-5-2 formation (being that they also didn't exercise the option on Sitch)?

Makes for some very interesting thoughts...and hopefully a lot of me calling "SCORRRRRRRE" a lot this season!

P.S.: In the picture released, Carli is holding up a #10 jersey...which was Yael's number last year. Wonder if there's a number change for either Yael or Carli?
