Brazil and Germany meet again - this time with a berth into the Gold Medal game on the line. Can Brazil break through the staunch German defense? Can Germany generate an effective attack?

We're about to find out...

Cristiane splits through 4 German defenders and slots it home - Brazil, 4-1.

See, that's what I mean. 4 defenders and Christiane is still able to run through and score a goal.

Did Christiane make that look easy or what? Wow, and what a touch on that shot. Just enough pace to get it past Angerer, but slow enough to make her suffer. And they almost get another one. I suppose I should be more sympathetic to Germany, but it's nice to see another world power feel a little Brazilian pain.

Btw, Germany always looks too frustrated when they are 1 (or more) goal(s) behind.

And I want Pohlers.

Who is the ref? She's done a nice job of allowing play to continue and recognizing advantage.

Yeah, but she's not going to get any better service than Prinz has.

K Lush - walking soccer encyclopedia. well done.

Eun Ah Hong from South Korea is the referee if I'm correct.

And no, Pohlers won't score 4 or 5 goals but Okoyino da Mbabi isn't really a forward as well. I'd take Laudehr off and then switch places with Okoyino da Mbabi.

I bow to her superior wisdom. Thanks, Karyn.

I'd rather see her doing the final than the Swiss ref. Wonder who'll wind up with that assignment?

Well congratulations to the Brazilians. I think we can all honestly say that they deserved to win as they were the better team.

And Germany is with both feet on the ground again. Nice wake up call for them.
