I guess since no one has posted, I guess I'll take the initiative :) I've been asking around, and seem not to find an answer. Why did they choose section 134 as the supporters section? From my understanding, for Fire games, it is where the visiting teams fans sit. Maybe if we build a big enough following, we could atleast get 118 (my personal fondness for the section ofcourse :)). Also, this might be getting ahead of things, but for those who are spearheading the supporters group, is there talk yet about what the supporters group will be called?

JANDERVK...
I'll let the group 'committee' respond to the name, I'm not sure if they have gone public with that yet!

And President Peter Wilt will probably have a more developed response, but here is mine: the Red Stars will only be using the East side of the stadium for our games (until our fan base grows and will requisite using more seating areas.).
What we call the 'Harlem End' which is where the tradition Section 8 is located, is where the IWSL members will be able to use their vouchers. [And as a side note we have not actually included Section 118 in our initial plans (we currently only extend as far 121/120)].
In case you are unaware, the Red Stars are partnered with the Illinois Women's Soccer League and their 20,000 strong membership, and as part of that partnership the Red Stars offered up 2 vouchers to every player. Those vouchers are going to be good for the Harlem End section.
So essentially the idea was to keep the Supporters group a bit away from the section where many youth players and families will be located.
that's the not-so-short answer, but Peter (or other staff?) might have more to elaborate on that!

Good answer Alyse. We will also be selling the stage end for groups, so we wanted a location that could energize the crowd.

A half a dozen or so intial supporters met yesterday to discuss names and other issues at their first organizational meeting. To join or find out more info on the Red Stars supporters, contact Nicole (http://womensprosoccer.ning.com/profile/NicoleHack) or Kari (http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=615160210).

Thanks for clearing that up :) I just prefer sitting behind the net, but it's understandable.

Any input as to whether WPS will have a streaming package similar to MLStv? For those who are on the road or have to travel, both inside and out of the country, a reasonably priced online package would be outstanding.

Sorry for delay in responding. WPS will have streaming available for many, but not all games when the new site is launched very soon. My hope is that by 2010, all games will be available online.

My question is affiliation

read this:
''''Red Eleven Announce Affiliation
WPS' Chicago Red Stars unite with W-League franchise...'''
http://wleague.uslsoccer.com/home/319639.html

That are what it wants to say for a young player?
One example Marie Eve Nault of Québec would have sign with Red Eleven ( a canadian dailynews wrote that ??)

Hello Emilie.

i am not certain that i understand your question. If i do not answer it properly, please write back in French. Chicago Red 11 is the Red Stars amateur affiliate in the W-League and will use many players who we hope will play in WPS. i do not know the full roster, but i know Red 11 will have several international players and maybe this player from Canada.

Regards,

peter

Bonjour Emilie.

peter

Thank you Emilie.

Marie's chances of making the Red Stars in 2010 are better because she will play for Red 11 in 2009. Emma Hayes will be able to see her play and train and if Marie plays good, there is a chance the Red Stars will sign her to a contract next year.

It is difficult though for an international player to play in WPS, because of the five international player limit.

All my best,

peter

Excellent! I spent a fair amount of time on Saturday trying to find an Internet feed, but unfortunately no luck. I welcome the good news. Thanks!!

Why is there no information posted about the Red Stars loss to FC Indiana on May 2nd? I'd like to read the write up from the franchise's point of view because the post game report on FC's website leads one to believe the Red Stars got worked over by a W-league team that did not turn in its best performance, was unfit, and still able to win.

The news release went out Sunday. It's on our website here: http://67.212.140.168/chicago/news/press_releases/090503-fall-to-fc...
