Yes! Thanks FSC. I watched the show tonight with Abby and Leslie and thought the ladies did a great job, especially given the dumb comment or two tossed their way by callers. I really appreciate Fox getting behind the league.

Opening matchup Freedom vs. the Breakers??? The only 2 teams left from the old league having last met in the playoffs in a toughly contested match. The Freedom took down the Breakers who were the #1 team coming out of the regular season and had handled the Freedom well during the season. Have Mia Hamm and Maren Meinert comeback for the opening ceremony before the game. You have players on both sides who were actually on the '03 squads. You have Nancy Augustyniak Goffi on the Breakers who was on the Beat squad that lost to the Freedom in the final. Speaking as a Boston fan I am ready for this game to start right now. :)

Seriously I think it is going to work Sunday nights in the summer the only competition is sunday night baseball which depending on the game is usually an easy miss. As for FSC some people have that sports package, some people don't. I have it because of the NFL Network so it is an added bonus for me but I think getting local broadcasts in the team's regional markets will be the key to building the grassroots support. Hopefully after 3 years with the teams in Dallas, Philly, Atlanta coming in and hopefully San Diego and Seattle coming in soon after. The league will reach most of the major markets and will be a national brand.

Not excited, but I guess the league has to take what it can get... bad night to get a soccer game on TV. I can't see how the rating will be there. Too many things going on Sunday nights after soccer weekends

It's cool except I don't have cable so I will gladly pay the fee if there is a subscription service to watch these games online. It seems not all the games will be on Fox Soccer Channel so there's hope you guys may still be considering this option?

We don't get FSC now with our present cable package. We are thinking about getting A T & T U-verse which includes FSC in it's 300 and 400 packages (no advertising intended).

It's good that FSC will broadcast games. It also provides the league additional revenue and exposure. Hopefully, some of the local channels in each market will cover a few games, too.

I just hope it isn't Sky Blue and Los Angeles every week. Nothing against those two teams, but television networks tend to gravitate toward the larger markets. I hope all 7 teams get fairly equal coverage.

As far as Sunday night goes, it's as good as night as any. Most people go out on Friday and Saturday night and don't watch television that much, especially in the summer. And with school being out most of the summer season, kids will be able to stay up and watch the games. The only problem is when you get into September (I'm not sure when the season ends), you are competing with the NFL.

i am so excited it came with optimum online, and the nfl network did not/mlb networks.
they should also have it on a weeknight too, maybe a tuesday or thursday.
i think they will have every team on during the season. if you are in nj/ny write to our local networks like msg/sny to get the sky blue games on.

My bet: the inaugural match will take place at Toyota Park, Chicago Red Stars vs. Washington Freedom - a new team against an old team in the same city where WPS is headquartered.

FYI, WPS is headquartered in San Francisco, not Chicago.
